New Guitar, State-of-the-Art Sound. You’re Psyched.
Meet the world’s first guitar designed with analog preamp modeling. Expertly engineered to play directly through a stereo system, a desktop recording console, a mixing board, a computer’s mic jack, a pair of headphones, or rock it old school through a guitar amplifier.
So Advanced, We Went Back in Time.
Your First Act guitar was designed with proprietary V-Stack analog modeling technology. That’s analog, not digital. While the rest of the world’s electronic devices now offer a digital format, we’re so far ahead that we went back in time. A digital guitar can be cold, glassy, or unresponsive, but analog is organic, sensitive to the touch of a light strum or a heavy strum. It can sound crystal clean, a little rock ‘n roll dirty, or like full-on metal. It sounds better and it feels better. It’s real, organic, warm tone, like vintage tube amps in classic rock songs. Modeling means that the output of your guitar has been “modeled” to sound like a real guitar amplifier. When it’s plugged into anything other than a guitar amp, it sounds like it’s plugged into a guitar amp!
Technology is Delicious.
We made perfect pickups by selecting the right Alnico V magnets and wound them with 42-gauge copper wire for monstrous sound. We used 500k potentiometers, .022 capacitors, and enough precision technology to make your head spin. The clean sound cuts like Detroit funk, soothes like New Orleans jazz, and chimes like southern California pop, while the distortion thrills classic rock devotees and metalheads alike. Make it sweaty like Chicago blues, gritty like Southern rock, or brutal like NYC hardcore. All voiced to sound wicked through whatever you plug into.
No Amp Required.
Guitar amplifiers have two distinct sections: a preamp that lets you tweak sound by dialing in the EQ and distortion, and the power amp that controls the overall volume and delivers sound to the amp’s speakers. Your guitar has a built-in preamp, and whatever you decide to plug into is your power amp.
Of course, you can play your guitar through a guitar amp, too. Turn off the VE591’s preamp, and the volume, tone, and pickup selector will work like on a regular guitar. You can still use your preamp through the guitar amp if you want to, just be sure to turn down the amp’s “gain” or distortion beforehand. The preamp in your guitar will act like an effect pedal in the signal chain, allowing you to get real analog distortion through the amp.
