When Chief Luthier Kelly Butler and his team were designing the Delia LS Limited Edition guitar, the mission was clear. “I wanted to create a U.S.-made guitar for under a thousand dollars without sacrificing quality,” said Butler. The result is a well-honed tone machine, a concentration of choice materials, focused design, and first-rate workmanship. The Delia LS resembles her older sister (the Delia) with a scaled-down body shape, but the tone is all her own. With a pair of custom-designed single-coil pickups and a body and neck of solid mahogany, the Delia LS finds the perfect balance between bright, snappy tones and dark, heavy ones.

The single-coil pickups on the Delia LS are “over-wound,” yielding super-fat sound and a hum-canceling effect when both pickups are active. Lead lines sing out with a clean tone that’s round, sweet, and thick. Flip on some overdrive and play colossal riffs and ferocious leads with huge sound but tight tonal definition. Her rhythm sound yields chords that ring out with the attack of a chorus of cannonballs, and with a string blend that retains each note’s character.

Get the Delia LS in your hands and you’ll be surprised at how balanced and compact the mahogany body feels. The mahogany neck has a solid, sturdy feel and a slim, fast-action profile for superb movement. With two deep cutaways, this guitar is meant to be played all over the fretboard, and built to crank out raw, powerful tone night after night. Pick her up and see how she brings out the pure player inside you.
