For Mike Herrera’s new side project, Tumbledown, he needed a
guitar that could handle the country music he was writing and the punk
influence he brought from his main band, MxPx. We set him up with a Delia LS,
and with a transparent amber finish over an alder body with cream binding, you
know he’ll at least look the part. He shouldn’t have any trouble getting the
sound he wants, with our vintage classic humbucker in the bridge, a K90
single-coil in the neck, one tone and two volume knobs, a push/pull coil tap
for the bridge pickup, and a mini-switch to activate a clean boost circuit. Top
it off with a maple neck with a C shape, maple fretboard, and a 3x3 pompadour
headstock and he’s got the perfect hybrid of country and punk.
