For the flavorful, high-strung power pop of Waltham, Peet needed a fast-playing bass with a fat bottom. It's a hot rod with a cherry red finish and chrome hardware. Part Mustang, part valentine.
We started with an asymmetrical, single cutaway body made of solid alder. Three Rio Grande Pitbull humbuckers give it a thick, beefy sound. Clear Lucite speed knobs control the volume on each pickup. A multi-layer plastic pearl pickguard shimmers in a light show. The heart shaped tuners suit Waltham's romantic rock anthems.
The c-style neck is two-piece maple with an ebony fretboard and pretty pearl dot inlays and jumbo fret wire.
Peet loves the big sound. He says he never has to EQ it; he can just plug it in and play.
