System of a Down has been called “one of rock’s most daring and innovative bands.” Serj Tankian shares vocal and songwriting duties with Daron Malakian onstage and in the studio. The band mixes urgent alternative metal with complex Arabian/East Asian rhythms and outspoken social/political commentary, employing a wide range of instruments. In 2001 Serj founded Serjical Strike, and the label has since released albums by Buckethead as well as Serj’s various side projects. His debut solo album, Elect The Dead, was released in 2007.
