Ron Heathman—better known to fans as Rontrose—is half of the
guitar corps for long-time garage rockers the Supersuckers. The band formed in Tucson, Arizona in 1988
and soon moved to Seattle,
where they released their first album, The Smoke of Hell, on the notable
grunge label Sub Pop. In 1997 the band made a foray in country music with the
album Must’ve Been High , and since then they play shows in both
country and garage punk styles. In 2001 the group formed their own label,
Mid-Fi Recordings, and have released several live and studio albums under the
name. Heathman briefly left the band in 1995, but has otherwise been a fulltime
member since their inception.
