Matt Pike

Matt Pike is the front man, vocalist, and guitarist for the heavy-metal power trio High On Fire. Pike formed the band shortly after the breakup of his previous group, the seminal stoner-metal band Sleep. High On Fire released their full-length debut, The Art of Self-Defense, in 2000. The band then signed with Relapse Records, and over a course of heavy touring and the release of three more albums (2002’s Surrounded by Thieves, 2005’s Blessed Black Wings, and 2007's Death is this Communion) they acquired a huge fan base and much critical acclaim within the metal world. More recognition came in February 2007, when Pike was named among Rolling Stone magazine's Top Twenty New Guitar Gods.
