Matt Davies took over as vocalist for Welsh post-hardcore rockers Funeral for a Friend in 2001, shortly after the band formed. Their blend of punk and hardcore with old-fashioned pop sensibility has obviously caught on in their home country, as FFAF’s last album, 2007’s Tales Don’t Tell Themselves, peaked at #3 on the UK album charts. Coincidentally, that was also the first album to feature Matt playing guitar as well as singing. He has also been working on a side project, The Secret Show, whose debut album, Impressionist Roadmap of the West, was released in 2007.
