Genghis Tron is a three-piece band from Philadelphia,
by way of upstate New York,
without a bassist or drummer. Relying on programmed drums and keyboards, along
with the phenomenal guitar talents of Hamilton Jordan, the band lacks
absolutely nothing, and shows traces of just about every genre of heavy music
you can think of, sliding effortlessly from grindcore to electronica to
industrial to, occasionally, straight-up metal. In other words, they’re equal
parts Mongolian warrior and computer hacker, as the name implies. The sound was
enough to catch the ears of Converge guitarist Kurt Ballou, who produced the
bands two full length albums, 2006’s Dead
Mountain Mouth and 2008’s Board up
the House, as well as those of most of the metal community.
